At the end of 2021, the European Parliament approved 2022 to be designated as the European Year of Youth. The objectives of the European Year of Youth are to promote and support the efforts of the European Union, Member States, regional and local authorities to interact with young people in the post-pandemic period, drawing inspiration from the ideas, visions and innovation that young people present to them.
The European Year of Youth will contribute to raising awareness of opportunities for young people to be active and engaged citizens and participants in change, inspired by a sense of European belonging. It is planned to organize a number of activities at European, national, regional and local levels.
The message of the European Year of Youth in Bulgaria is: Sustainable Development – Europe 2050: Let's hear the voices of young people of Bulgaria.
The main areas of activities and events in Bulgaria are aimed at education for sustainability, volunteering and mental health, aggression and intolerance, influence of social networks and impact of the pandemic environment on young people.
All organizations that plan to implement activities within the initiative can provide information to be included in the calendar. To do this, you need to fill out and send our electronic form.
Thematic areas and planned activities:
- Implementation of volunteering projects;
- Creating of a White Paper on Youth Volunteering.
Information about the events throughout the year will be available on a specially developed calendar, where young people and all stakeholders will be informed in order to take part. The calendar can be found on the National Information System for Youth - www.nism.bg.
